Guilty. Because Memorial Day is the unofficial kick off of summer (???) I am apt to forget its great significance. It’s so much more than a day to take off work, or a day to go to the beach or a day to catch great sales. It’s a day to remember and honor those who have given their lives for our nation’s freedom. I’ve never been asked or required to do that yet I enjoy all the benefits. So, when I stop to really remember, I am filled with such gratitude. We truly are the land of the free because of the brave. .
