A peaceful courtyard we created at a home designed by @nequettearchitecture in Auburn, AL. In-keeping with the French country farmhouse aesthetic, we incorporated boxwood parterres and filled them with ‘Homestead’ verbena. This purple perennial makes a great substitute for traditional French lavender, which has problems surviving our humid summers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Small but important details connect the garden to the home. We selected this antique bench and faux finished it to match the awnings around the property. In addition, the planters we imported from Italy bring an authentic European feel to the grounds while also complementing the colors in the stone walls. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Those small decisions can sometimes be the most difficult to make, but they deeply impact how a garden relates to the home. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thanks to @rachelrelaford for the fantastic faux finishing and @italianterracecollection for the perfect planters!
