One of them is definitely deep enough but when preparing the hole for the second one, I came across a cluster of buried stones that I just couldn’t budge so it’s planted just below the surface. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed. The roots are covered by leafy perennials so they’ll still be cool. I’m back indoors now preparing some afternoon strawberries from the allotment.
