Awesome Design Ideas

The pair of vintage English cupboards that sit in our are both pretty and practical, lending a bit of patina and depth to a most beloved, albeit small, space. I’m often asked why we decided to forego upper cabinetry and if we miss having the storage space. In designing, I was particularly inspired by historic English kitchens, which are defined, in part, by furniture pieces in lieu of cabinetry. These English cupboards “filled the storage gap,” so to speak, and, just as if we had upper cabinetry, there’s still a top shelf I cannot reach, lol. We keep things like paper towels, flatware, and our childrens’ cereal (in lovely large glass jars) on the bottom shelves, and more delicate items on the upper shelves, which all seems to work together perfectly for our household. Foregoing upper cabinetry is not for everyone, but it was definitely for us, lol. Happy Wednesday, sweet friends!!! #stayhome
